Subject: RE: drinking water vs whole house

NW Iowa
I question the need for a $12-15,000 dollar RO. Like John said you only need RO for drinking water and the refrig. We have the cheaper separate RO faucet on the kitchen sink for our drinking water and Ice maker. The filters are in the basement. Our well is deeper, 380’ and the nitrate level is very low so we don’t have to worry about that aspect and other minerals are fairly low. But because of the RO we never need to clean lime out of the coffee maker. You can save yourself a lot of money by going this way. You don’t need to flush the toilets with RO water from a whole house unit.
