The bottom line is that tariff's will lower the standard of living for the average person as consumer product will be more expensive. Then there is the fact of protectionism where the protected industries become lazy due to the lack of competition.


David Canada is really concerned as US is our #1 trade partner.

Around me their has /is billions being spent on greenhouses to export cucumbers, tomatoes,peppers to the US .They have done well with the high US dollar (roughly $1.40 cdn.) Surprised they are not to concerned as for us hog guys when we got tariffed it wasn't fun. Later WTO over turned it.

Mold makers,tool & die have some projects on hold until they see outcome of new administration.

Canada needs exports but sometimes I question why we want to export "stuff" at or below COP
