Seeded earlier this fall and had delayed germination waiting for rain. I think it all came up but man it’s short going into winter. What are my chances of survival?


What part of Illinois are you in? How late did you seed it? I'd be pretty nervous if I had a seeded field that looks like that right now, but I'm guessing your not going to try to harvest it! Unless you get some heavy snow cover those little plants probably won't survive much sub-freezing weather. In response to other posts about seeding rates, a fescue/kbg blend works well here at 250#/acre.
