Subject: Should I add liquid insecticide with planter?

EC IL
I'm planting more VT2's, PCE's, triples and whatever other acronyms they want for above ground only protection corn....and less smartstacks and Q's(below ground)
I haven't seen rootworm pressure in years but don't want to be caught with my pants down if it isn't too hard to add to planter. This is all rotated ground.
I know a ton of guys do late season insecticide with their fungicide (around pollination) but that doesn't really help with rootworms if they've already attacked the roots right?

Planter came with a surefire fertilizer system that I haven't used.
Previous owner used a starter of some sort with it but tank was on tractor so I don't have the option till I add a tank.
It's just a dribble behind the seed drop but in furrow it looks like. no fancy firmers or anything else...just a tube.
I'm not going to put dry insecticide on the planter but since it's already ready for liquid I'm just curious what more i'd need to add.

I read about the dosing machines(dosatrons?) but have no clue how they work or would plumb into my current system. Are they needed for insecticide or can I get away with just water and insecticide mixed?
