Vertical beaters will work fine, hard to drive fast enough to put 2 ton/ac on unless you're able to slow down floor chain more is what I've been told not sure what width he was spreading. We get along good with the Chandler litter beds unless it's extremely wet clumpy compost or has grass mixed in it from loading . Bar every 5th link works better than a bar every other link for that wet stuff
