NE IL | Im 35 and have been fighting back problems since before I could drive. Has varied over the years but has progressed significantly in last 3-4 months. In past pain was always in my back and I would throw it out and be laid up for a few days 1-4 times per year. However lately my leg pain has been severe and standing is unbearable. Anyway, I’ve got an appt with a neurosurgeon after my latest mri showed several central canal stenosis along with several degenerated disks, with L4-5 being the worst. It appears decompression surgery is a common treatment. Wondering who has had one and what the results were? From what I’ve read it sounds like I should expect leg pain relief is what I need now but it’s unclear if it will do much for long term back pain relief. | |
