I had a discectomy on L 4/5 four years ago. I no longer ‘throw out’ my back, but I am sore every morning. Just need to be careful what I do and I don’t fear the two or three times a year being down for five days anymore. There was no fix for mine other than surgery, it was completely blown out. It’s better, I’d do it again, back pain really sucks. Good luck.
