West Central MN (between MMF and Larson's)
CHS is a large corporation disguised as a cooperative.

CHS convinced one of the local coops to “merge “ to provide some critical mass to allow CHS to build a shuttle Fert plant. That’s helped CHS but hasn’t brought any significant savings to the market for John Q farmer.

Lots of good local employees left due to the bureaucracy and corporate politics. Many former board members left disgusted as the local CHS boards really don’t have much authority and are more ceremonial and are to help further the charade.

The smaller local coops seem to be more competitive than CHS “here”. West central has way more critical mass than the couple smaller coops around here. I don’t understand the big sense of urgency on West Central’s part.

If I can get away tomorrow my vote will be no. But I’m 2 hours away from Ulen and not sure if I can make it.
