Subject: RE: Fall spray over cover crop?

Not able to answer your question cause we don’t fall spray. We did rye for over 10 years on home farm for feed or cover crop. Didn’t like how it seemed to dry ground out in dry springs. Did great job on suppressing weeds. But hard to deal with it if got wet spring We moved to wheat as a cover. Has seem to do better with weed suppression for us and dealing with it if it gets rank. We are down to 50-60 pounds per acre of bin run wheat. As crazy as it may sound til you try. We have found the ground to b looser. More moisture to plant in , less weeds, better farm averages of cash crop, and in belief we are building organic matter faster . Still trying to prove that. Convinced dad on it that he has said more than once we won’t go back to rye. Just our 2 cents. Get what you pay for on internet
