Central Coast, California | Well now that the new EID mandate has taken force we are seeing some of the kinks come to light.
I went and helped Trich test for a neighbor. One of the bigger ranches in the area, I think we did roughly 30 bulls. Bulls aged up to 7 years old. Most of them had been done in the past. Most had existing metal clip. Most had existing EID.
Im not sure If the protocol is the same everywhere. Here is California they get a Numbered Year tag, verification of permanent ID (metal clip or EID), plus any Ranch ID is recorded, then the test is taken.
Added a new twist having to bounce between ID's. Vets arent too jaded on it yet. The bulls arent bad but when we Bangs heiffers next summer they are predicting a **** show. |
