NEMO | I guess I can argue both sides of this, but in my mind that's only half true at best, and will vary a whole bunch from breed to breed. I get to meet lots of breeders, some are interested only in what they can produce to advance their financial position. Over time those kind of weed out. I know several breeders that look straight at feet, it all starts there, other traits mainly maternal follow, the rest fall into place. Too many producers (not breeders) only look at certain EPD traits, works until it doesn't. I guess I could agree with you that too many bulls that are in the bull of the month club and are unproven and can pass a lot of bad traits only to be discovered down the road. I said a couple of posts ago that when I bull shop, I look hard at the proven females in the pedigree. Your assertion that all AI sires are growth, is wrong. Many are CE, or heavy carcass trait.
