just a tish NE of central ND
Just wondering. Anyone still using one? Mechanical movement and wind-up clocks pondering tonight. I don't think my teenage grandkids ever heard the statement made about winding up clocks or watches in their lifetimes. Certainly they dont knwo what winding up a wristwatch means either. My how times have changed!
Back in the day my Grandmother's house had a Cuckoo clock that I think came from Germany when my uncles were in the service, (brought it home) that had the hanging weights on chains that needed resetting every couple days. I haven't thought about that noisy clock that Cuckooed ever hour on the hour for a long time and I don't know where it went for sure.
>> But I wonder if anyone still uses the old grandfather clocks and Cuckoo clocks with the hanging chains that made them run from way back then? They were quite the thing back in their day!
