I found my mom and dad’s old cuckoo clock in a box while cleaning out the farmhouse after he died last Christmas. They got it as a wedding present back in 1957. It has the 8 day Regula 34 clock mechanism in it. It’s in good shape still but needs new chains as my brother would pull on the chains too hard without lifting the weights at the same time. It opened all the links and I tried to pinch them all back shut, but they won’t stay now.

My mom still has a Grandmother clock she won as a prize at a furniture store back in the early 70’s. Other than an occasional oiling, it hasn’t missed a beat in 50+ years.
