I did some research...The 1995 Lincoln Town Car my landlord gave me the other day is about the same weight as Ed's Tesla...maybe even a little more.
Sedans built in the 50s 60s 70s and 80s and 90s weighed more than most Tesla sedans and somehow managed to get by with bias ply tires...but they didn't have the power and torque a modern EV does.
