Subject: RE: Wagons vs Trucks

My operation is mostly run by a cart back and forth to a wagon at the bins, but for the 1 farm thats 5 miles away we run a straight truck to the auger....my operation doesnt really justify having a semi, but i am considering it. I am getting tired of truckers not being reliable. (I.e. saying they will be there at 7 to haul and not showing up until 9, only getting 3 loads out in a day (2 to the plant 1 for the next day) when the next driver delivers 5 loads to the same plant and loads a 6th for the next day))

Had to haul with wagons from the distant farm this fall when straight truck broke down.....went from 45 mins a trip to almost 2 hours. Just for efficiency the added costs are worth the trucks.
