Batteries and shop rates aren't much cheaper either. Maybe insurance is, but repairs are gonna be expensive either way.
Where your math is skewed is you already have the tractors. It’s always more efficient to spread workload over existing inventory, than go out and buy more. The most efficient operation I’ve seen in my area uses 3 tractors they already have and use in the spring, with a pair of big Brent wagons behind each. Always one set in the field catching the combine. Combine never stops, just a constant flow of grain directly from combine to the bin site. No cart expense, wasted effort/energy of handling that corn twice, paying a guy all the while to chase a combine all day, just to transfer to a waiting truck.
