There's nothing stopping you from using wagons if you want or can't afford trucks. If you are worried about which is the better bang for the buck, you have to run the numbers for your own operation. If you haul a few miles or less over smooth roads then the wagons seem like a slam dunk. We have lost a few wagon wheel bearings over the years on wagons that I thought were well maintained and it can make a major mess in the middle of the road not to mention the risk of passing cars getting into an accident that is your fault. We also have 10 mile hauls over very rough paved roads and spending money on a truck seems like a good idea after 30 loads at 10 mph listening to the wagons hammer over every bump.
