I always checked before I started an engine to ensure oil was present. Especially if it was a piece of equipment I am not the only person that operates.


+1 always checked before starting. If I take over operating something from somebody else, I generally check it then too.

Seen industrial engines leak their entire pan overnight and not be visible on the ground. Only thing preventing failure there is being vigilant.
