If its your cob door your struggling with, not the stationary knives. Yank the handle off by taking the bolt out of the end. Remove the key ring clip and slide the slug out. I bet you find a broken spring in the lock. Also take that handle to the anvil and flatten it back out like it should be. Mine gets a little concave every now and then.
