Middlesex County, Ontario | Put boom flush valves on. Boom caps don't get removed because its too much effort and too dirty of a job. Valves are super easy and actually get flushed.
As a general rule; don't leave chemical in your boom overnight, run some clean water through the boom at the end of the day. You don't have to use the boom flush valves every night, just run 50 gallons of clean water through. RoundUp acts as a cleaner, use that to your advantage, sometimes you might want to leave that in your booms. Think about what you are going into next.
When in doubt: purge your booms before you start spraying. Dinging a whole field is a lot less common of a mistake than dinging the first few hundred feet. Purging your boom will prevent that first few hundred feet mistake.
4x 25 gallon flushes is wayyyy more effective than 1x 100 gallon flush.
Ammonia and Dawn are great, but go buy a commercial tank cleaner for when it really matters. Even if it's just for the piece of mind.
RoundUp is a great cleaner. If you are switching from corn to beans, maybe you want to go spray 10 acres of corn headlands with RoundUp first.
