Just going off what was said yesterday. Other posters said West Central had little debt and was profitable. If they were serving their patrons well there is no reason for them to sell out to a mega coop.
And how do you know there’s no reason?
I also thought the deal was doomed to fail the way the comments were running yesterday, but obviously I can’t really know the details from here. The West Central board and management knew all the details and thought it was a good idea, the CHS board and management evidently thought it was a good idea, and now we know approximately 70% of the patrons also apparently think it’s a good idea. Given all that, it seems more than a little presumptuous that anyone uninvolved and states away would be looking to lay blame for it passing.
