The design is flawed. The knife assembly is too heavy for the rod that holds the knives up. Ive gone to raising the knives up and snugging up the adjusting rod nut. Then using 3/4” carriage bolts with the appropriate number of flat washers and nut to buttress that rod in the chopping position. Haven’t had the knives slid back down. To get a better spread pattern do not insert them all the way in.
