Big difference to the DIY is obviously the "no maintenance" AND the CORS like backup you would have. If one base station is down in a network of base stations, you still get corrections. Depending on the other base locations, maybe not as accurate as with all of them working but clearly much better than a single base station which may be down due to internet, power etc. failure at the base station location.
