I really liked a young Robert Redford movie. Butch Cassidy Sundance Kid, The Sting, Three Days of the condor, Jeremiah Johnson, Electric Horseman. Jack Nicholson in ChinaTown was a disturbing storyline, also starred Faye Dunaway. They just don’t make ‘em like these anymore. Some really, really good older series from the 70’s we’re Centennial with Robert Conrad, an early French fur trader, and The Thornbirds. Roots was pretty good too.
We have very similar taste in movies. A lot of the movies you mentioned are some of my all time favorites. The Redford movies were all great and the Sting was my wife and I first date 50 years ago.
China Town has a very dark side, but it is a great movie, Jack Nicholson was terrific in China Town. I always thought that in the roles where he played a jacka$$, that he didn't have to really act, he just was being himself. I don't know if he was really like that in real life, it just seemed like he could of been that way. Maybe that is what made him a great actor, he just seemed natural.
Have you seen Centennial? Robert Conrad has to fight off Indians much like Redford did in Jeremiah Johnson. Pasqunele was his French name. If not, I’m sure you’d really like it.
