| Tried that very thing. I put my nitrogen on for corn, got a rain, and ended up with 90 bushel to the acre corn (other side of the fence was 250 that year) and the best looking waterways in 3 county's. Light tilling needs to happen from time to time in my area. That single mistake cost me roughly 70k.
A lot of you guys think I'm spending to much and could easily be right, but I don't think I can get a 2500 dollar tillage tool that doesn't need 15k in new parts, and welders don't come to my farm free.
My off the farm job is very time consuming, and if 10k extra on a tillage tool saves me days fixing stuff, it's money well spent.
