I had those pains in my right leg, in the front of the thigh. I told my arthritis doc about it and she gave me some exercises to do which have cured my problem. Here is a link to what you are dealing with. The problem is the connection between your muscle and the tendons.

"Muscle pain on the outside front of the thigh is most commonly caused by Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS), which is inflammation of the iliotibial band, a thick tendon running down the outer thigh from the hip to the knee, often occurring due to overuse in activities like running or hiking; another potential cause is meralgia paresthetica, a condition where the nerve supplying sensation to the outer thigh becomes compressed, leading to burning or tingling pain in the area.
Key points about pain in the outside front of the thigh:
Common cause:
Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS) - pain usually worsens with activity and can feel like a burning sensation along the outside of the thigh.
Nerve related pain:
Meralgia paresthetica - characterized by tingling, numbness, or burning pain on the outer thigh, often triggered by tight clothing or prolonged sitting.
Other potential causes:
Muscle strain in the quadriceps (vastus lateralis)
Trochanteric bursitis - inflammation of the bursa near the hip joint, causing pain on the outer thigh
Hip injury
What to do if you experience this pain:
Rest: Avoid activities that aggravate the pain.
Ice: Apply ice packs to the affected area to reduce inflammation.
Stretching and strengthening exercises: Specific exercises to stretch and strengthen the muscles around the hip and thigh can help.
Wear appropriate clothing: Avoid tight clothing that may put pressure on the nerve.
When to see a doctor:
If the pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms like swelling, redness, or numbness.
If you suspect a serious injury like a muscle tear.
If conservative treatments do not provide relief. "
