One grandpa's stone they didn't get the death marked on it (g-parents had it setup years earlier) for years. Maybe not until grandma passed 7yrs later, not sure anymore as that was in the 80s. I think one of my aunts was in charge of it and knowing her (procrastination) I could get why it took a while!!! They still have not totally finished the new house that was started in '89 and its likely it never will in her life (now 86).

I need to check on my mom's this spring. Dad passed in '12 and their stone was set pretty soon. Mom passed last August and the last time I was out there (last fall) they had not added the date for her yet. I don't live near enough to check on these things too often though.
