S.C. Wisconsin | I just sold my fishing boat that had a 115 Mercury that had a Yamaha 4 stroke powerhead. It was a good unit but it always was a hard shifter and had some problems idling . I bought a new boat with a 90 hp 4 strake Mercury . It shifts much smoother and idles very smooth and overall it performs very good. How it will hold up will be remained to be seen. I wouldn't be afraid of a Mercury 4 stroke. Another thing to remember is if you ever have a problem is the availability of mechanics who know the ins and outs of that particular outboard. | |
